This Midlands-based scaffolding contractor is run by Mr Reid, a hands-on director who is actively involved on the tools day-to-day, managing both the operational side of the business and its commercial requirements.
As the business had grown, so had its insurance requirements, running a fleet of vehicles alongside public liability cover meant renewal was becoming increasingly important to get right.
The Challenge

For a working director who is on the tools every day, finding time to properly review insurance during working hours is a genuine challenge. Mr Reid knew that renewing with the same insurer year after year was likely costing money, but getting the headspace to explore alternatives was easier said than done.
He needed fleet cover and public liability protection arranged quickly, without a lengthy back-and-forth process or significant time away from the business.
What We Arranged
We reviewed the company's existing arrangements and approached the market on their behalf. Two policies were placed: fleet insurance covering the business's vehicles, and public liability insurance with scaffolding-specific cover included.

Previous premium: £11,200/yr.
New premium: £8,650/yr.
Public Liability
Scaffolding-specific cover upgraded from £5 million to £10 million. Monthly premium reduced by approximately £50, with stronger protection in place than before.
